Simon Waddington

Simon Waddington is Professor of Gene Therapy at University College London. He and his colleagues devote their efforts to translational gene therapy for early onset, debilitating and often lethal genetic diseases. He has worked on gene therapy for range of metabolic diseases including urea cycle disorders and lysosomal storage diseases such as Gauchers Disease. He collaborates with Professor Ahad Rahim, and the paediatricians Professors Paul Gissen, Manju Kurian in progressing gene therapy to the clinic for diseases including Dopamine Transporter Deficiency Syndrome, Niemann Pick C, Ornithine Transcarbamylase and Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy.
